INDIAN POLICE FORCE S1 REVIEW: typical ROHIT SHETTY entertainer Shines for THE SMALL SCREEN

STORYLINE: Indian Police Force is a seven-part series which follows a Delhi police officer Kabir Malik (Sidharth Malhotra), who puts everything on the line to protect India’s national capital from forthcoming dangers.

REVIEW: “Indian Police Force” is Rohit Shetty’s debut online series and it successfully shows the recognizable aspects of his police world to the digital sphere. As with all of Shetty’s productions, this seven-part series features star power, attitude, style, and spectacle. Shetty’s typical style of high-octane action sequences, gun fights, and car chases opens the series and keeps viewers interested from the get-go.

In the eerie opening sequence of the episode, multiple explosions occur in the city, inflicting devastation and ruining many people’s lives. Like Shetty’s movies, this cop action thriller also has an exciting chase between Kabir and the attackers, played by Vikram Bakshi (Vivek Oberoi), two committed police officers. Later, they team up with Shilpa Shetty, the Chief of the ATS, to hunt down a man linked to the explosions in Gujarat, which leads them to Haider (Mayyank Taandon). Concerning Haider’s function as the mastermind, the story tackles issues of radicalization and terrorism as it develops.

The series makes up for its predictable plot—which revolves around radicalism’s impact and retaliation—with quick turns and surprising surprises. The writing team (Sandeep Saket, Anusha Nandkumar, Ayush Trivedi, Vidhi Ghodgaonkar, and Sanchit Bedre) and co-directors Rohit Shetty and Sushwanth Prakash establish a compelling story that holds the audience’s attention. However, some viewers who are hoping for additional surprises could be let down by the storyline’s predictability.

However, “Indian Police Force” makes a great impression with a few respectable performances. Siddharth Malhotra’s subtle and composed performance in the lead part is unquestionably successful. Another aspect of Malhotra’s character is revealed through the liberal use of expletives.

Layers to the story are added by the way the emotional intricacies of Kabir’s character—including his bond with his late wife Rashmi (Isha Talwar)—are portrayed. The ensemble cast gains depth from Vivek Oberoi’s impressive portrayal of senior officer Vikram Bakshi and Shilpa Shetty’s fierce performance as ATS Chief Tara Shetty. As Vikram’s wife, Shweta Tiwari excels in poignant moments, and Sharad Kelkar leaves a lasting impression despite joining the show later in the game.

The series’ visual appeal is enhanced by well-shot songs set amid Delhi’s historical landmarks, such as Purana Quila and Humayun’s Tomb. However, some viewers might feel the tempo slowed down by these musical interludes. Amar Mohile’s background music fits in nicely with the story. The series has a Bollywood-style cinematic atmosphere thanks to the cinematography (by Girish Kant and Raza Hussain Mehta) and wide-angle images of locations like Delhi and Jaipur.

‘Indian Police Force’ is a recommended series because of its unique approach to presenting an action-packed digital series, even with its predictable plot. Its appealing half-hour episode length makes it a worthwhile viewing for both web series enthusiasts and aficionados of the police genre.
